Back to School

I feel so bad that I don't have a picture of the kids first day of school this year. With surgery and now I have a tummy virus things have been a little crazy to say the least. I am excited to have an 11th, 8th, and 4th grader:) We are sad to see summer leave but excited to see what fall and winter have in store for us. With getting back to school gets us all on a routine and earlier bedtime.

I love this Man!!

I still can't believe I get to spend Eternity with this man:)

Fourth of July Party

Jr. and Jennarae threw an awesome Fourth of July cookout at their house. Yummy hot dogs and burgers with all the trimmings were served up. Then some patriotic desserts. All of our family came and we even got to share it with one cute little boy and a sweet baby. I love when all of our family can be together and visit. I am once again so grateful for the closeness we all share.

Food Chain

We came upon the little eggs a couple of weeks ago on the way to the pond in our neighborhood. The momma sandpiper took such good care of guarding them. Eric and Jr put up sticks and ribbons so no one would mow over them and we checked on them often to make sure they were still ok. When the rain would come we would look out the window and hope they were okay. A few days had gone by and when Eric checked on them...NOTHING was there! We are guessing that a snake got them:( We are sad for the momma bird and hope she lays some more eggs in a safer place next time.

Am I cool or what?

Wyatt LOVES to go to MeMaw and Papa's and take their new ride for a spin.

Got mud??

He's Back!!

After being in Afghanistan for seven months Scott was finally reunited with his beautiful family on July 5th. He is a wonderful man who makes my best friend very happy. We are soooo glad Scotty is back home!!

My Best Friend

I have known this girl since 2nd grade and she means the world to me and my family. We grew up around th corner from each other. We went to school together, rode the same bus, and spent most of our free time together. Even with us growing older and getting our own families started we have always stayed very close. Our kids play together and adore her new baby. She has been there for me at many times in my life like no one else. She has a heart of gold and a spunky personality. I am so happy she is married to a wondeful man and looking forward to seeing them back in each others arms soon! I LOVE YOU STACY!! Thank you for ALWAYS loving me unconditionally!

Pinewood Derby

Wyatt had a blast helping Daddy work on his pinewood derby car. He made sure to oversee EVERY thing that was going on with it...even down to exactly where to place the lego man to drive. We have been really sick this last week so we didn't get to decorate and do as much as we would have liked:( That's ok..we have the raingutter regatta in July:) All in all it was a fun night and all the boys cars were AWESOME!!

AB Honor Roll

Wyatt is always so excited when he gets AB Honor Roll

Moving..Again

We FINALLY got a move date of March 15th!:) We are soooo ready to be out of our little shoebox of a townhouse. We have been packed and ready since the middle of December:( It has been a bit stressful to need a certain pan to make a goodie and have to go into the garage and dig for it. We really like the house we are moving to and all the kids have their own rooms:) I am starting to get a little worried that we don't have enough stuff to fill up the house. New changes are in store for my kiddos too....they will now be riding the big yellow bus instead of mom's taxi (yyipppeee). I am sure the workers at chic fil a will miss the chic that comes to the drive thru in glasses, hair pulled back, no make up and pjs several times a week:) We are also enforcing the rule that unless they are deathly ill they do not come into our room or bathroom. We have always had an open door to them, but they like to come in and "lift" things from our room like ties for church, make-up, and other random things they like. We'll see how it goes:) I will post pics of the house once we sign the lease (don't want the current owners getting freaked with me being in "their" yard like the paparazzi).

Best babysitters in town

It's soooo hard for me to wait my turn to love on this precious angel.
Britty was patting the baby on his hiney and Wyatt said "Britty, stop that!, you are gonna make him poop!
Guess Wyatt has alot to learn about babies:)

Homework time = Bonding time

In the past I was not a big fan of homework, but in our house it has become a time that we are all in the same room communicating and helping one another. I usually sit down with Wyatt and help him with the hard stuff. On the easier stuff, I start dinner and talk to the others about their day and what's going on at church. Ian and Britt are always on standby to help with something I don't understand:)

Another one bites the dust

Wyatt has been wiggling his tooth for the past few days and has been waiting and waiting for it to FINALLY fall out. Well...today at lunch, it did! He was soooo stinkin happy that he got to go to the nurse's office and pick out a cool little treasure chest to put it in.

LDS.org

I am so very grateful for the Lds.org site. When I have a question about something or would like help on a topic I know that I can find the answer there. We LOVE to watch the clips as a family at night. The kids love to hear and read the scriptures offline also:) This site has been a very helpful tool in our home.

Sometimes rainy days are a good thing

We didn't really have plans to go out and do anything today so we welcomed the rain. Britty had a project to complete for school and the boys and I took full advantage to get some things done for cubscouts and Duty to God. WOW how much you can get signed off if you just take some time to do the projects:) Wyatt carved a dog bone out of a bar of soap and learned all about knife safety. Ian did a few things out of his Duty to God and read scriptures. Today was VERY productive and now that baths and family scripture reading is over....I get to rest in a Key Lime Pie scented bubble bath!:)

Rough end of the year...

Gonna do a little catching up since I was unable to blog a lot towards the end of the year... This is kinda like a journal for me too:)

Wyatt's surgery the end of September, I have been slightly out of commission. We had a homebound teacher that came in to our house to work with him 2-3 times a week on top of the other kids sports and church activites. She was AMAZING and worked around our schedule:) We missed quite a lot of church because he just was in so much pain and it was hard for him to sit up for so long. He was in his hard cast longer than expected, but now he is in a brace that he wears full time except for sleeping and bathing. Around Thanksgiving, I began to have really bad panic attacks which resulted in a trip across the street on Thanksgiving and then a few weeks later to the ER. I also got a HORRIBLE stomach bug the day after Thanksgiving and another right after Christmas. Our wole family got the bug the first time I got it. I only pray that 2011 with bring us better health. The panic attacks I can only assume are back because while Wyatt was down I was in survivor mode and now my body is paying for it. Luckily, I had a break from school during Christmas and was able start packing the house and spend some much needed quality time with the kids. I also got a break when the kids stayed at my moms for a bit:) The Sunday after Christmas we had to drive out the Muellers because we had forgotten my car keys in their truck a few days before. It was supposed to be a quick trip to get the keys and grab some dinner. We had left their house and about 3 miles down the road...our little Yaris ended the life of a small deer:( It was soooo tramatic with kids screaming and crying. We were in the middle of no where and freezing. We called Eric's parents for help and then called the sheriffs office. We had a couple of sweet southerners stop and ask if we ok and one lady wanted to call her husband to come get the deer, Eric quickly told her that we would be keeping the deer. Police report in hand Eric put the car back together the best he could and we headed back to the Muellers to skin the deer. Late Late that night we loaded back up in the car and headed home again. I considered holding a flashlight out the window as a headlight but it was too cold:) So....$3,000.00 later and almost two weeks in the shop we should get the little healed Yaris back today. Although I did enjoy sportin a 2011 Camry while it was in the shop. Can't wait to see what 2011 has in store for us!!

A Brand New Year

We had a freezing blast at the Brand New Year activity. It was refreshing to us as adults to help us set spiritual goals. The kids played games and socialized with some of their friends from other wards. Wyatt enjoyed the pizza, popcorn, AND hot chocolate:) He even took some pictures of the horses and cows! I am so grateful that my family enjoys being together and that we are able to attend such events as a family.
